		<description>The comments on the &lt;a href="http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/03/10/0328217" rel="nofollow"&gt;Slashdot post&lt;/a&gt; that covered this (at least when read at +5) are pretty interesting. I don't have the background to know whether the commenters know what they're talking about or not, but the consensus seems to be that the CBC article is a gross misrepresentation of what the scientists are really saying. I also can't decipher the &lt;a href="http://www.pnas.org/cgi/reprint/102/28/9790.pdf" rel="nofollow"&gt;original paper&lt;/a&gt;, but I don't think it's really saying that nerve paths use sound waves instead of electricity.

By the way, the CBC is a little slow on the draw on this one. The "new theory" is about 2 years old.</description>
