Greetings from Kiwiland

I just had a week off after about three weeks of work. I went to Arthur’s Pass National Park. It was very nice, but some switchbacks on the trails would have been nice. For some reason, they think that strait up is the best way to go up a mountain. I’m not sure if you can still call it a hiking trail when you have to use your hands almost as much as your feet. Perhaps it serves as a barrier to keep unfit people, who may be more prone to needing rescue, from getting very far into the park.

We just moved from Blackball to Moana. The new house is in a vacation community by Lake Brunner. All of the houses are built on stilts so that they can see over each other to the lake. Thankfully they are also on a hillside or the stilts could get out of hand.

I’ll try to put some pictures up. I tried once before and failed. They just did not want to upload.

What? No pictures of kiwi? I am disappointed.

I think they are nocturnal and very rare as well. Or you are talking about people kiwis and not the bird? I have that kind of kiwi picture. I also have Weka pictures. Wekas are kind of like kiwis in the same way that they are kind of like chickens.
