Crazy But Able

My sister Lynn was killed in a car crash on December 22, 2005. This came as a huge shock to our family (especially to me and Peggy, since we were driving to my Dad’s house in Michigan and didn’t hear about it until we arrived.) My sister lived her life with an intensity few were able to come close to, let alone match.

Coping with her death has been, of course, very difficult. My two primary coping mechanisms for dealing with disaster are telling jokes and taking pictures–activities which feel out of place in times like these. (Although sometimes I think they should not feel that way.)

Led by a premonition, I brought my entire desktop computer with me to Michigan, ancient back-breaking CRT monitor and all. It proved to be invaluble as I was able to put together a little photo album by taking all of the pictures of Lynn I had on my computer, putting them onto my CF card, and printing them out at Wal-mart. I wound up making 13 copies for family members and friends. I selected the pictures based on what I thought they would like; but over the next few days on the photolog I’ll be posting some of the pictures of my sister that I like.

In closing… ah, who am I kidding. I don’t have a closing. I miss my sister very much.
