Crazy But Able

My google-fu faileth me. I have an iTunes library full of all of my ripped CDs. I’d like to use iTunes to manage that, by which I mean, when I rename something in iTunes, it’s nice to have it get renamed on the hard drive automatically. However, I also have a couple of directories of promo-mp3s and singles downloaded off of several indie bands’ websites. I’d like to put those mp3s in my iTunes library, but I *don’t* want iTunes to manage (read: rename or move anything) for me.

Is this possible?
