hmm it also says 12511 visitors, how many of those do you think were john?
that number seem a little high to anyone?

also, your close_up tag on the dragonflies should be macro.
and yes, that number is high. it’s probably counting every hit. john has a billion other more important things to fix first though.

That number counts visitors to the main page only, not to every hit the all of the images on the page get. Also, if you visit it more than once within an hour, then it counts that as only one “visit”. Search engine bots probably boost that number quite a bit because I doubt that they keep track of cookies.
As a point of comparison, we got 1255 hits on the main page yesterday. I don’t know how many “visits” that translates to in the software though.

well not quite 24 hours later its at 13479. that comes to 968 new visits. the obvious answer; hundreds of people each day in search of geological porn!
