Cooking advice
The University of Minnesota has enacted started enforcing some new dictatorial rules on bringing food on campus for student events and the like. The rules are that food has to come in to the U in “sealed packages”. What I want to know is, what kinds of things can I bring in sealed packages and then combine on site to make something?
I’m sure I could do chex-mix or something similar but I’m looking for something a little less obvious. Anyone have any thoughts? One idea would be to make a huge salad.

Make it, seal it, bring it.

Ha. I found out some more info about the regulations. Turns out that those rules used to only apply to buildings like the Coffman union, which has all of the food vendors, the idea being, of course, that students would have to get their food catered by the Coffman vendors instead of bringing it themselves. But then the university moved to a centralized room booking system, one which couldn’t apply rules like that on a building wide basis.
Also, the rules only apply if you advertise for your group. Anyway, it’s still stupid.
