Crisy Dumplings
In an effort to conform with other weblogs I’ve decided to make a list of something. Now, what to make a list of…this is where imagination and creativity can really come together and spark. Should I make a list of, what?, things I want? or thinks I like? or things I don’t like? At the end of each of those questions feel free to sort of throw on “in California” or, “at work” or the ole cliche, “in bed.” A list. A list, a list, a list. A list of “A Lists.” Oh, speaking of “in bed” we got chinese food last night! Yeah, we ordered from Pick up Stix! I like their cripsy dumplings. A girl at work said a good way to find a good chinese restaurant was to see if a lot of Asians eat there but I disagree because I want the most Americanized chinese food I can get. I used to think chinese food was full of worms on the account of all the bean sprouts that come in a can of La Choy but I am branching out and at least eating other chinese food. Up in Northern Michigan there weren’t a whole lot of ethnic restaurants. A list of ethnic restaurants in Petoskey when I was growing up:
–La Seniorita. It’s a mexican food place. Now that I’m a grown-up I prefer, when I can get it, green chili enchiladas, a specialty of New Mexico. La Seniorita was pretty American.
–Hu-Nan. Chinese. My worst eating enemy, my best friend Jaime’s favorite place to eat.
–Ristorante Italiano. Bona fide Italian food. Too expensive for my poor family to frequent. Ever.
We also watched the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame on Sunday. That Keith Richards! I want a Keith Richards wig, with a rainbow headband and lots of scraggly-looking hair accented with bits of metal junk and beads! And I loved Bob Segar getting inducted! Bob Seger is awesome! He looked like any typical Michigan man. He had big industrial glasses, a beard, and crooked yellow teeth and he just seemed real jolly. Crazy to think of that laid back Michigander as a rock star:)
