Sweet Williams
Ahh, it’s so peaceful here now. It’s Friday night and I still have an hour and a half of work to go with just me and the manager. I have the weekend off and I plan on spending as much time as possible with Devin. I just never get enough of him! We’re gonna look into sprucing up our little patio and I just got a hot tip on some reasonably priced stuff. I’d like to put some flower pots out there too but they get expensive and I’m not sure what I want out there. Currently we have a huge grill, two plastic chairs, a thermometer, and a small windchime on the patio and I feel like it needs a little more oomph. My mom gave me the windchime and we bought the chairs for $1 at a garage sale. Devin was ready to haggle over the price but when he found out it was a dollar he didn’t want to be a cheapskate. Last weekend we had drinks out there and it was perfect so I want to keep that going. The patio looks out over some hills that are unfortunately spattered with houses and at sunset the hills get red and dusky. At our last apartment, in Indiana, when I invited my mom over she looked at my small patio and decided I needed some hanging flower pots–she just knew. I was aprehensive about flowers but she took me to a greenhouse the next weekend to pick out two hanging plants. One was fuscia and while I kept it healthy I would see hummingbirds sample from the huge blooms in the morning. The other one was a purple flower but since I’m not good with names of flowers…Later on, I added flower pots and tomato plants to my little deck. They went crazy! All summer long they got bigger and bigger-especially the tomato plants. I had four 12″ pots with the tall wire supports and they ended up taking the deck over. So much so, that when I would drive by and look at the apartment my deck looked like a wild jungle. Then I was lazy and didn’t bring my pots in and clean them out for the winter and they sat outside all sad in the snow. When spring rolled around again some of the Sweet Williams came back and I repotted them in a cute terra cotta pot. I was real proud of bringing them back but Devin pointed out that I was the one that left them out in the cold all winter in the first place. He’s right but I still like to think it was my careful attention with the Miracle grow that saved them. So, I think I will look into some flower pots.
