Punch Key

Ahhh, it’s just that time of year where not a whole lot is happening. But that’s the way I like it. This time of year goes by SO fast…We were going to go to the zoo last weekend to visit the new baby panda but a terrible winter storm blew through here. Tee Hee, actually it was just rain but out here that qualifies as weather. There were lots of car accidents and people stayed in, or if they did go out they were roughing it. I swear when it rains here people forget how to drive. Since we just had all those fires in October thought there have been a few mudslides and some flooding, and also there is supposed to be more heavy rains all week. Not today though, it’s totally sunny and 75. Anyway, no zoo. We bought Cranium and played with Jenn and Les. At one point they had to act out “Missionary” for me and Devin. Jenn started praying, handing out flyers, and pounding on nails. Les started humping the floor. Just goes to show you how people can interpret things differently. On Sat night we went to a sneak preview of ‘Starsky and Hutch’. The show was going to start at 7:20 and we got the tickets earlier in the day so we were just going to roll in early-like 6:00- and get in line to secure totally cool seats. We ended up going to the wrong theater. One of the workers told us theater 3 so we went there and since the theater was completly empty we started playing charades to pass the time. We played for about a half an hour with no other people coming into the theater before we finally wised up and verified what theater the movie was going to be in. Yup, we were in the wrong one. We still got good seats though. Very funny movie.

Since today is Fat Tuesday I want to eat a big doughnut. It has to do with living in South Bend for 2 years. That area has a lot of Polish catholics and every year around this time a fantastic culinary delight graces grocery stores and bakery cases. It’s a big filled doughnut specially fried called Paczy’s (I’m not sure on the spelling but it’s weird) it’s pronounced punch key. Whoa! Are they ever good. You’re supposed to eat 2–one for each cheek.
