New cat toy?

Mr. Fuzz spent a lot of time moping about the house yesterday. I feel sorry for him because it’s so wintery outside he just can’t go out, not even for a little bit. You can tell he’s really bored, even with pipe cleaners.

So I had this idea… why not go to the pet store and get a really cheap feeder mouse ($1.99 + tax), let it loose in the bathtub, and let Mr. Fuzz in the bathroom to have some fun? Post in the comments why you think this is or isn’t a good idea, although keep in mind that arguments based on the welfare of the mouse have to take into account that the thing’s just going to wind up as python food if it doesn’t become a Mr. Fuzz cat toy.

Maybe the cat bats the mouse way up into the air out of the tub and the mouse finds a small crack or hole in the wall, in somewhere, and slip into said crack. Then 9 mo later you have a whole litter of feeder mice. It could get ugly is all I’m saying.

Well, the best argument I heard against it was that Mr. Fuzz is quite elderly, and may not be able to actually kill the mouse, in which case I’d have to.

Like most of my ideas that I get while sick in bed, hopped up on cough syrup, I think this one is a little too unworkable. I found a better solution to the problem of Fuzz boredom. I bundled him up in my jacket (so just his head was peeking out) and took him for a walk outside.

How long have you been addicted to drugs John?

Addicted? No. I do prefer to take cough syrup when I can’t stop coughing tho. It sure beats bronchitis.
