Wild Animal Park

The holiday’s get weirder every year. They seem less and less real. I don’t get enough quiet time and it starts to make me a little grouchy. Like this year between Christmas and New Year’s and birthdays I got burned out. At one point I was trying to veg out in front of the TV and even though I have 500 channels I couldn’t find anything good. I ended up trying to watch Sex in the City but quit after 30 seconds because it was too materialistic for Christmas time. I still can’t decide if turning it off with my little speech was over the top or reasonable.

For Devin’s birthday this year we went to Dave and Buster’s with our friends Mike and Brooke. There was a boxing “game” that you put your hands in some boxing gloves and the game can tell when you punch and duck. It was so hard! It was like a real work out! I went like 5 rounds before I was put out of my misery. I also played a lot of skeeball. I got a technique. I thought Dave and Buster’s was for adults but kids can get in if accompanied by an adult so the place was crawlin’ with kids. I like to watch kids when they’re on their own making decisions and you can get a feel for their personalities. Like last weekend we went to the Wild Animal Park and saw a toddler trying to cut in line for the train ride. He was fast! He was steppin’ left and right and ducking and turning. He even wiped out and started crying but I think he was angrier at his mom stopping him than biting the dust. Then he resorted to crying and tossing his hands around but that didn’t work either. I could tell he was trying to think of anything to get ahead in line and it wasn’t that he was way behind in line, he just didn’t like that there were people in front of him.

The Wild Animal Park was way cool! They have a lot of big animal habitats and a huge 95 acre area that the animals all roam around in. There are giraffes, zebras, wildebeast, lots of deer, and a bunch of rhinoceros all in the same habitat interacting with each other. They even migrate within the area because it’s so big. If you ever come to San Diego I know there are a lot of cool things to do but this is one of the best. Even though it’s a little out of the way it’s worth the drive. On the way home we stopped at a winery and had a tasting. Yum. I feel like such a fruit whenever I “taste” wine. I hope nobody from Michigan ever sees me swishing and twirling my glass, I’d never be able to hold my head up in Levering again! One of the ports I tried tasted like mushrooms. Isn’t that weird?

when are you going to start making your own wine?!?! imagine how inexpensive christmas shopping would become. just give people bottles of wine that cost you .50 - $1 each. so far the only thing i’ve made that is in doubt is the “blue cumin” which means that it is really easy do to. now, go forth and make wine!
