Friggin’ twinkle lights
It seems I was a little hasty thinking my head was on the chopping block for my recent Check Writer Log fiasco. I obsessed about it all weekend and then on Monday and Tuesday I kept making more mistakes even though they were tiny mistakes I couldn’t help thinking I was going to get fired. Oh yeah, I went from thinking I’d be reprimanded to thinking I’d be fired. And publicly flogged. I just let my imagination carry me away into some outlandish ideas. I wasn’t the only one worried about it though, my manager was worried too. Geesh! Sometimes I envy John for being unemployed. Enjoy it John, you’ve got the rest of your life to work. Besides, money is overrated.
Over the weekend we went to our shiny new friends house for dinner on Sunday night and then stayed to watch ‘King of the Hill’ and ‘Simpsons’. I forgot how funny those shows are! I will never look down on watching TV again! So much joy and laughter in one little box…Haven’t done any Christmas shopping yet. I’m scrooged for the season. It might be lack of snow that’s getting me down. Hard to tell. You’d think I was broke the way I keep dissing gifts but this will be the first year that we don’t have to use our credit cards for stuff. Maybe I don’t want to shop because of the traffic. Maybe I don’t want to go to the mall because it’s full of assholes. See what I mean. You’re not supposed to think people are assholes at Christmastime you’re supposed to think of baby Jesus and the human spirit and all that. Maybe I need more twinkle lights in my apartment.

Hey! I’m not unemployed, I work at the paper. I’m underemployed, at least as a software engineer. ;)
We (Keir and Corey and I) are going Christmas shopping today. I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’m sorry if I offended you by saying you are unemployed. Good luck shopping!
