Crazy But Able

I was checking out another weblog and in it the writer said, “Don’t let the bastards get you down.” I know it’s not very original or anything but today that phrase seems so wise. Work is going crappy and I think it may be worse tomorrow as I may be facing disciplinary action. You’d think that since I’m not in grade school anymore and I didn’t do anything illegal I wouldn’t have anything to worry about, not so. There is one area in my life that I’m tragically vulnerable to “the man” and that’s work. I messed up a very small area of a transaction and it has ballooned to involve a lot of the V.P.’s and a bunch of other people only too happy to criticize. And I used the dreded highly unauthorized never-ever-ever-use-under-any- circumstances Check Writer Log. Sound evil? It should. That’s the thing I’m gonna get busted for. I have no idea what the repercussions of this might be but what if I get written up or something? I’ve never been reprimanded at work. I am an exemplary employee. I get compliments all the time, or at least I used to until I started working here. I’ll just have to wait and see. One cool thing is that my manager has been backing me up so that helps but I still feel like I have some kind of leporsy.

Thanksgiving was great, as usual. We had Devin’s parents and our new friends over for dinner. After dinner we watched the Cowboys lose, as usual;) The holidays feel like a big bowling ball coming down the lane at 90 mph. On the one hand I’m sure it’ll be great but sometimes I feel like there’s too much emphasis on gifts. We are getting a new, bigger tree this year! Our old one was only 3 feet tall and we were maxing it out as far as ornaments so now we’ll get one that’s like 6 feet tall.

I’m going to brood some more.
