Tutti fruity oh rudy
Well, I’m not homesick right now. Mainly because I keep looking at the temps for Michigan and it’s looking pretty cold. We still have to run our air conditioning but have been trying to cut back and open the windows more on account of our $180 electric bill. I just about had a heart attack after I opened that envelope. I figure now I can handle any bill–nothing will scare me. I’m a little nervous about open windows now though on account of watching ‘Cold Case Files’ over the weekend. The subject was the Original Night Stalker, and in the show it was all capitalized like that. This night stalker would sneak through open windows and screen doors and tie up couples and rape the women. I thought at the end of the show they would tell about how they triumphantly brought the guy down but instead they asked for tips and information! Damn! So for the last couple of nights everytime I get up to go to the bathroom I worry that I’ll see someone in my bedroom doorway. I’ve just been jumpier. That show was worse than ‘Unsolved Mysteries.’
We had to say goodbye to an employee at work that was from a temp agency. It was sad. One day she was with us and the next day just gone. We’ve hired a guy to fill her position and he was born in Russia. He seems okay but Kayla was so funny!
I had to fill out a medical form last week that asked how many times a week I drink alcohol. I put down 4. I mean, I drink more than twice a week but not every night so I figured that was a good average number. Then when the nurse was looking over my form she was like (disapproving voice), “You drink four times a week?” Kind of unbelieving too. I said, “On average.” She asked what I drink and I said, “Maybe a cocktail, maybe a glass of wine.” She said, “Oh, as long as it’s not the hard stuff. No vodka. That’s very bad for the liver.” Huh. Tell that to Frank Sinatra. I kinda thought your body could heal. Like, if you fried a few liver cells your body would repair or replace those cells. Besides, it’s not like I specifically try to do healthy things. I don’t eat at McDonalds every day–or ever really because I don’t like McDonalds. But I don’t eat pizza every night. I don’t smoke. I take vitamans. Ok, I do some healthy things on purpose. And I get a flu shot every year:) Picture beaming pride at my healthy attitude.
