bIT and stuff

John I have been to IT job fairs in both Michigan and Minnesota. They are weird and they do stuff like that. The funny thing is that they will tell you that and then give you a call a few weeks later. One thing that I noticed is that a lot of companies will try to hire you for sales with the potential promise of getting into something that you would more like to do. I think that is a bit underhanded if you ask me.

Well there is a large chance that me and my small family may move back to St. Paul. That would be fun for a while. Then after 3-4 years… who knows where we would go.

Yeah, I’ve gotten the sales pitch before. No thanks! I might have the skills, but I don’t have the motivation/inclination to be good at it.

It’d be awesome if you guys moved here; I’d have someone to jam with. As for what I’m doing with the guitar at the moment: I used to play with a thicker pick than I’ve been using recently, and when I was up in Houghton last week, I didn’t have any of the thinner ones so I used one of my old picks, and I was really groovin’ to the sound. So I’ve been playing around with picks for the past few days, trying to get a good trade-off between good sound/dynamics/overall volume/wrist stress.

I really need to start disciplining myself and start practicing some scales — I only know the blues scale after 2 or 3 years of playing around with scales. I think I’m going to take on learning some more of the lead parts to St. Stephen by the Grateful Dead.
